MoneySENSE Family Outreach
13th November 2004, Parco Bugis Junction
The MoneySENSE Family Outreach was launched at Parco Bugis Junction on 13 November 2004. This event was held in conjunction with Family Festival 2004 in support of the International Year of the Family. Mrs Lim Hwee Hua, Minister of State for Finance and Transport officiated the launch and unveiled two new MoneySENSE cartoon guides, "Are You A MoneySENSible Family?" (PDF, 4.50MB) and "The MoneySENSE Guide To Planning For Your Family's Financial Future" (PDF, 9.60MB).
The two cartoon guides feature the exploits of the "Lim Family" and are aimed at making money management and financial planning matters more relevant for families. The two guides can be downloaded below. Copies of the two guides will also be distributed free-of-charge at the Family Festival exhibition at Suntec City Exhibition Hall (Level 4) from 26-28 November 2004.

In conjunction with the launch of the comic book, The Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS) and its member banks also organised a "Saving For My Family" MoneySENSE Children's Art Contest. This contest aims to encourage children to develop good money management habits from young. A total of $1,600 cash prizes was awarded to the young winners.

The Association of Financial Advisers, Singapore (AFA), the Financial Planning Association of Singapore (FPAS) and the Investment Management Association of Singapore (IMAS) are jointly organising a MoneySENSE Family Challenge. For this challenge, four finalist families have been picked to vie for the title of the "2004 MoneySENSE Family" on 27 November 2004 at Suntec City Exhibition Hall (Level 4). The winning families stand to win attractive cash prizes totalling $3,500. The four finalists are:
